CAN YOU RUN JUMP THROW or WHEEL?
AO POD MEET March 17, 2017 10:30am – 12:30pm
Kids interested in joining Lions Valley Athletics can try it all. Friday March 17th, Athletics Ontario will team up with Variety Village to let you try it all at the AO Pod Meet.
KIDS CAN TRY IT OUT!
Lions Valley Athletics Outdoor Season begins Tuesday April 4th and before that kids aged 8-12 can try it out at the AO POD Meet to see if Track & Field really interests them. In a fun and non-competitive way the kids will participate in the different Athletics disciplines and afterwards will have a better idea if joining Lions Valley Athletics for our Outdoor Track & Field Season is something that will interest them.
We will team you up with other kids interested in joining Lions Valley Athletics to try everything as a group with the Coach alongside.
If you are interested please register for the event online and also email Coach Kevin J Smith at email@example.com so that he is aware your registered and will ensure all Lions Valley Athletics kids are grouped together. Don’t be afraid to ask questions about Lions Valley Athletics and Track & Field.
What is a Pod Meet? A pod meet is all about participation and less focused on just winning. The idea is to provide kids an opportunity to try track and field in a fun, non-competitive environment. Participants will have a chance to try Long Jump, Triple Jump, Sprints, Hurdles, Distance, Relay, Shot Put, Javelin
Participants are placed into groups (pods). Those groups will begin at an event and given an opportunity to to participate. You can try as many times as you want during the time-frame. When it’s time to switch the groups will move to the next station and get to try that station.
BECAUSE TRACK & FIELD IS AMAZING! It has something for everyone and is the basis for every sport!! We at AO love it so much we want EVERYONE to experience how much fun it can be.
