Evening & Night Trail Runs
We love our Oakville trail system but it can be hard to use during the winter months because of snow and ice but mainly darkness. As part of the rest and recovery of the Holiday Season we will adventure into the trails for some easy runs under the veil of darkness with our headlamps to guide us.
You can read our post about Choosing a headlamp for running to get a better idea of whats out there. [Choosing a Headlamp for Running - READ MORE...]
Holiday Lights Run and Cookie Exchange
Holiday Lights Run
On Dec 22 2016, our typical workout will be replaced with an easy run of approximately 60min where we will visit many of the best Holiday Lights in the Northwest Oakville area around the Glen Abbey Community Centre.
Submit Holiday Lights Suggestions
If you know of anyone who has "MUST SEE" holiday lights and decorations we want to include them on our Holiday Lights Run Route. Send the address or location ofyour suggestions to firstname.lastname@example.org by Dec 18 to guarantee they are included. We will do our best to include everyones suggestions but they must be in the area from the QEW to Dundas and Sixteen Mile Creek to Bronte Rd.
The Cookie Exchange will be after the run. The theme for this year's Cookie Exchange is "Rest & Recovery." Whatever this theme compels you to bake whether its healthy or awefully delicious you decide! If you are unsure about what a cookie exchange is then please see the full rules of the cookie exchange below.
If you plan on attending and baking cookies to share and exchange please let us know by the workout on Saturday Dec 17 in person or email email@example.com and you will be notified the next day Dec 18, with the number of participants and how many sets you will need. You do not have to be here in person to participate if you make arrangements to get your cookies to the exchange but we prefer to have your company!
See more event details in the LVA Holiday Schedule above or the button below.
The Rules of the Cookie Exchange
All cookies should be homemade, baked by yourself, a friend or family member.
- The Theme for this years Cookie Exchange is "Rest & Recovery"

Please bring a minimum of 4 cookies per set. 6 Cookies is ideal.
On Sunday Dec 18, the number of participants will be confirmed and how many sets you should bring.
Each set of cookies should be in a package or container. Zip lock bags, tupperware or tins are acceptable examples. Cookies wrapped in paper towels taped together is not acceptable.
Feel free to share a copy of your recipe in the comments on this page or through email after the Cookie Exchange.
Holiday or festive running attire is always welcome!
RSVP as soon as you can before the Saturday Dec 17 Workout and let me know what type of cookies you are planning on baking - to avoid duplicate recipes.
If you don't have time to bake, or have burnt your cookies, but still want to attend, you must go to a real bakery and buy sets of 6 (half dozen) yummy cookies.
